First Class Post?
Yarmouth's second biggest field of the day takes on the 4.20, Class 5 Seven furlong handicap. While a lot of the field suffer from pretty hit and miss form, and it would be no suprise to see a high priced horse show a piece of form that was otherwise lost in the goldrums, that is no way to go about punting so we will take a look at the more probable runners: Spin Again is the obvious place to start being the market leader, he won a class 6 here two weeks ago over course and distance and on the same ground he is likely to encounter today, I feel that he is unlikely to be able to improve significantly in order to win this and would recommend taking him on, should his price get shorter than the 4/1available whilst I write this. Rough Rock has a great chance of following up his comfortable win at Newmarket last weekend. He was ridden by a very inexperienced rider and still managed to win with quite a bit in hand. Unfortunately his negatives are that Newmarket was very soft ground (I was there that evening) and it poured with rain previous to and during that race, and he is unlikely to appreciate the drop back in trip. Therefore my selection is the improving First Class. After finishing a close 3rd over course and distance last time out after a long lay off, he is sure to improve, he creeps into the handicap off a low weight, is improving all the time and has a more than able pilot in Luke Morris on board. He is from a stable that represents a staggering percentage runners to winners and regularly more than punch above their weight. The ease in the ground (He ran on Firm last time and it is predicted good to firm will help and currently a best priced 11/1 he is sure to be a price that each way is guaranteed a return. The best of luck to all!
