I started reading a few highly recommended horse racing books 2 years ago. Those books inspired me to start my own system.

By using spreadsheets I tried to put numbers to things that factored into a race such as draw, field and class. This made the approach as mechanical as possible. But I was always very aware that it was just a guideline and the real decision making fell on my ability to read a race; the system just helped me look in the right places.

After a year of operating the system I analysed the results and further refined it. I am now confident of its ability.

Specialisation
I have found my niche. I think it’s impossible to successfully bet on all types of racing so I limit myself to All Weather Handicaps.

I am hopeful that the system will be unique in offering roughly 50% strike rates at an average price of 4/1.

Top Tip
Don’t rely on other peoples methods regarding weight, speed figures etc. Do some research and produce all the figures for yourself. You must have your own opinion on a race and the ability of a horse – even if it goes against the “informed” knowledge of industry insiders.
