Profile of One Lay a Day

I am successfully laying Flat and Jump Races for some time now and want to share my selections that have been working so well.

My method is to screen the races daily for situations, where the favorites are likely to fail. I look for certain combinations of course, type of race, length and other factors that have shown a low favorite`s strike rate lately.

From this shortlist, which is usually 3-6 races, I exclude all races where the favorite`s odds are to long, the number of runners are to small and look at some other minor factors.

Usually 2-3 possible lays are the result of this second selection round and I will then select only one of them based on a detailed look at the race to judge the chances of the favorite and the main competitors.

Over 90% of the time I will only select one race per day to lay the favorite. Very rarely none of the shortlisted favorites qualify for a lay after a closer look, so no bet will be made. Even more rarely I will find two equally qualified favorite`s to lay, so there will be two bets a day, though this should not happen more than once every two or three months.
